A fulfillment center is a facility that stores, processes, packs, and sends things to end consumers and/or merchants. Although it acts similarly to a warehouse, a fulfillment center's day-to-day operations differ from those of a typical warehouse. Its typical clients will be e-commerce enterprises, whose primary customers may be direct customers (B2C) or other businesses/retailers (B2B). A fulfillment center may package and send single-item shipments to direct customers as well as large bulk purchases to other companies.
